Cassettes

I wanted some physical media of my favorite albums.

Look...

Our worlds are so digital.
Physical media is so much more satisfying to wade through than scrolling through playlists and glazing over thousands of titles.
But physical media is expensive, a collection of my favorite projects would be in the tens of thousands of dollars.

I grew up with cassettes. As a kid I listened to storybooks on cassette, and when I was older I would run into my older brother’s room to grab a cassette off his shelf, and run back to my room to listen to it on my walkman. And I loved to record on them. My stereo had a built in wired microphone, allowing me to walk around the house, record my observations, and force my parents to listen to them. I miss all of it. The tactfulness, the shareability, the weight of holding something you love in your hand.

So, I made my own physical media.

I purchased empty cassette cases, tested out card stocks, re-designed the albums with logos on the spine and track lists on the back, and created something new.

Of course, I couldn’t leave you hanging, here’s some selects from each project.
